Throwback Thursday – October 2025

This is a page from the 1969 catalogue. During this period IKEA offered a surprising range of chandeliers such as the Isala and the Final. Made from metal and glass, these pieces showed a more decorative side of IKEA that is often forgotten today. While the brand is now known for minimalism and flatpack design, in the late sixties IKEA experimented with elegant lighting that would not look out of place in a modern interior even today. The Isala and Final chandeliers remind us that IKEA once had a true flair for mid century glamour.
