IKEA Fridene swivel armchair in blue

This IKEA Fridene swivel armchair was designed by Carina Bengs and launched in 2004. Its blue upholstery and bent beech frame create a warm, distinctive combination. The padded seat and back provide a comfortable place to relax, while the swivel mechanism allows a full 360-degree rotation.

Two chairs are listed as available. Each has the same rounded proportions and inviting appearance. You can use one as an individual lounge seat or choose a pair for a coordinated seating area. Check the selected option before ordering.

Materials and everyday use

The IKEA Fridene swivel armchair combines visible bent beech wood with thick fabric upholstery. The blue cotton-mix covering gives the chair a softer character. Meanwhile, the curved wooden frame adds warmth and a clear outline.

For example, place a chair beside a floor lamp to create a reading corner. Alternatively, use two chairs opposite a sofa for a more conversational arrangement. Their rotating seats make it easy to turn towards different parts of the room.

At 73 cm wide and deep, each chair needs a modest amount of floor space. However, allow extra clearance around the frame for the swivel movement. The seat height is 43 cm, so compare this measurement with your preferred seating position. Blue upholstery also pairs well with wooden furniture and simple neutral textiles.

Condition and dimensions

The chairs are in good vintage condition. They do have some stains and minor signs of wear. Please examine the photographs carefully for the fabric and frame details. These are vintage chairs with visible signs of use, rather than newly upholstered examples.
