Memphis Milano – First Chairs – Set of 4 – Michele de Lucchi – 1983

Michele de Lucchi designed this set of four Memphis Milano First chairs in 1983. Moreover, the bold design combines lacquered wood with coated metal frames. Silver, blue and black elements connect to create the seat and distinctive cut-out backrest.

The chairs bring a strong graphic presence to a dining room, study, entrance or contemporary interior. Moreover, the planetary, orbit-like composition makes each chair a sculptural design object as well as a functional seat.

Michele de Lucchi First Chair from 1983

In particular, the First Chair belongs to the Memphis Milano collection. Its expressive form reflects the experimental design language of the early 1980s, while the clear construction keeps the chair recognisable and usable.

Finally, all four chairs are in great condition with only minor signs of age and use. The set includes a spare set of four hinges for the backrests, and each chair carries a signature stamp. Therefore, the price is for the complete set of four.
