Magnus Olesen – Model 5531 – Braided Armchair – Rud Thygesen & Johnny Sørensen – Denmark – 1960s

This set of four Magnus Olesen Model 5531 armchairs was designed by Rud Thygesen and Johnny Sørensen for Magnus Olesen. Made in Denmark in the 1960s, the chairs combine a clear wooden frame with practical canvas seating.

In addition, two chairs have black canvas seats and two have red-and-black canvas seats. The variation creates a lively group around a dining table or meeting space. As a result, the set brings authentic Danish design character.

For example, use these armchairs around a table, at a desk or as occasional lounge seating. A stamp on the underside supports the original attribution. Moreover, the four chairs are offered together.

The chairs have good vintage condition. They show scratches and minor stains from age and use. Please study the photographs for the exact canvas colours, marks and wooden finish.
