Rob Parry – Lounge Chair – Set of 2 – Early Edition – Gelderland – 1960s
This is a lovely set of lounge chairs by Rob Parry for Gelderland in the 1960s. The lounge chairs provides great comfort and they still have their original Palty Sitwell system under the seat for even extra comfort!
Rob Parry (1925-2023) was a Dutch furniture and industrial designer, known for his modernist designs with clean lines, functionality and minimalism. Parry was strongly influenced by the principles of the De Stijl movement and the work of renowned designers such as Gerrit Rietveld and Le Corbusier.
Parry’s designs were both elegant and practical and he used materials such as steel, wood and leather to create furniture that was functional and comfortable. Parry’s “Lotus” chair won the prestigious Signe d’Or award in 1959.
