Les Invisibles – Folding Chairs – Yonel Lebovici & Bernard Berthet – Marais International – 1973

This set of four Les Invisibles folding chairs was designed in 1973 by Yonel Lebovici and Bernard Berthet for Marais International. Transparent methacrylate slats and a white-gold steel frame give the chairs a rare architectural appearance.

Les Invisibles folding chairs design

In addition, the folding construction makes the chairs practical to store or move. The translucent slats keep the silhouette light, while the metal frame adds strength. As a result, the group works around a dining table, in a studio or as occasional seating.

For example, display the four chairs together to show their graphic rhythm. Moreover, the design remains useful as well as collectible.
