IKEA – Rappen / Ted Net Chair – Red – Niels Gammelgaard – 1976

Niels Gammelgaard designed this red IKEA Rappen / Ted Net chair for IKEA in the 1970s. The chair is also known as Ted Net and has a recognisable lacquered metal seat and backrest. Its open, graphic appearance gives it a strong presence without making the room feel heavy.

Because of its durable metal construction and bright red finish, you can use the chair in several settings. Place it around a dining table, at a desk, in a hallway or on a covered terrace. It can also add a lively accent to a garden or eclectic interior.

Niels Gammelgaard design for IKEA

Niels Gammelgaard created furniture with a clear and practical character. The Rappen / Ted Net chair combines that straightforward approach with a distinctive colour and airy metal form. As a result, it is easy to combine with wood, chrome, glass and other vintage pieces.

The chair is in good vintage condition. It has a couple of minor chips, but nothing major. Finally, please study the photographs carefully for the exact appearance of the lacquer, seat, backrest and frame.
