This set of two IKEA Mina Sputnik coat racks dates from the early 1990s. The IKEA Mina Sputnik coat rack has a space-age form with a playful radial silhouette, inspired by the visual language of Sputnik and Swedish Atomic design.
The racks are made from metal and wood and can be used in an entrance, bedroom, hallway or dressing area. Place them together as a pair or use them in separate rooms for a consistent vintage detail.

The model is often mistakenly attributed to the Italian designer Osvaldo Borsani and the early 1960s. In fact, it was sold by IKEA in the early 1990s under the name Mina. That distinction is important when describing the piece accurately.
The overall condition is okay, with signs of wear from use. Please study the photographs carefully for the exact surface, colour and condition of both coat racks before ordering.
The radial design makes the pair practical as well as decorative. Hang coats, bags or scarves from the individual points, or display the racks as sculptural wall objects when they are not in use.
