IKEA – Märd – Memphis Storage Crate – 1991

IKEA Märd storage crates from 1991

These IKEA Märd storage crates add colour and practical storage to your home. Listed as a 1991 design, they have a playful appearance that suits an informal living space. You can use them for toys, records or other everyday belongings that need a dedicated place.

The collection includes two listed sizes. The smaller format measures 37 cm across, while the larger crate measures 74 cm wide. Both have the same depth and height. As a result, you can compare their footprints easily when planning your room.

Colourful storage for everyday use

The IKEA Märd storage crates offer a simple way to organise a play area or living room. For example, keep toys together so they are easy to find. Alternatively, use a crate for a record collection. Check the dimensions of your records and sleeves before choosing the best arrangement.

Their colourful appearance also gives functional storage a decorative role. Place a crate where you can reach it easily, rather than hiding it away. Meanwhile, the larger size offers a wider footprint for belongings that need more space.

Before ordering, consider what you want to store and measure the available area. Leave enough room to lift items in and out comfortably. These vintage pieces can work alongside contemporary furnishings, or complement other playful designs from the same period.
