IKEA Duett Pendant Light – White – Bent Gantzel-Boysen – 1980s

This white IKEA Duett pendant light was designed by Bent Gantzel-Boysen in 1983. The lampshade consists of round aluminium stacking discs, all painted white, creating a distinctive layered appearance.

The Duett pendant light works well above a small dining table, in a hallway, bedroom or reading corner. In addition, its compact format makes it suitable for rooms where a larger pendant would feel overwhelming.

1980s IKEA Duett pendant light

IKEA produced the Duett in several colours, including white, blue, red, green and gold. The model appears in IKEA catalogues from 1983 until 1987, placing it firmly within the colourful 1980s design period.

This white example shows signs of use and has developed a beautiful patina. Please study the photographs carefully for the exact appearance of the painted aluminium discs, cable and fittings.
