Description

This IKEA Bilen car wall lamp brings a playful automotive detail to a vintage interior. The green plastic body takes its shape from a 1953 Chevrolet Corvette. Produced in the 1980s, the lamp combines a familiar car silhouette with a decorative lighting function. Its hood can be set in different positions.

IKEA Bilen car wall lamp from the 1980s

The design offers a small but distinctive accent for a wall. For example, it can add character to a study, collection room or playful corner. In addition, the green finish makes the car shape easy to recognise. Its compact dimensions allow it to fit within a display without taking up floor space.

The reference to 1953 describes the Chevrolet model that inspired the shape. However, the lamp itself dates from the 1980s. This distinction helps place the object within IKEA’s vintage lighting designs. The adjustable hood also adds an interactive detail to the familiar outline.

Materials and dimensions

The body is made from green plastic. It measures 14 cm high, 25 cm wide and 16 cm deep. Before choosing its position, check those dimensions against the intended wall area. Moreover, allow space for the hood to sit in your preferred position and for any cable arrangement.
