Hillebrand – Oval Mirror – Lucite – 6 Backlights – Germany – 1970s

This Hillebrand oval mirror dates from Germany in the 1970s. Six integrated backlights radiate a warm, soft glow when switched on, turning the mirror into a distinctive lighting object. The oval design can be used horizontally or vertically, so it adapts easily to a hallway, bedroom, dressing area or bathroom.

Oval Lucite mirror with six backlights

The illuminated edge gives the mirror a strong Space Age and 1970s character. When the lights are off, the oval outline remains elegant and clear. When they are on, the soft backlight creates atmosphere around the reflective surface. In addition, the two hanging orientations make it easier to fit the mirror into different wall layouts.

The Lucite construction adds to the light appearance, while the integrated electrical system keeps the design visually clean. Use the mirror as a practical dressing mirror or as a glowing accent above a console. Its pale surface works especially well with chrome, white furniture and warm wood.
