Herda – Wall Lamp – Memphis Style – Dutch – 1980s

This Herda wall lamp comes from the Netherlands and dates from the 1980s. The design combines three materials in one sculptural form. A curved, chrome-plated aluminium bowl forms the shade. An ebony round knob adds warmth. A solid brass base completes the lamp.

Together, these materials create a refined Memphis style look. The polished metal catches the light. The wood and brass add contrast. The lamp suits a hallway, bedroom, living room or reading corner. Its compact shape works well on many walls. The curved bowl also gives the light a clear focal point.

Distinctive Dutch wall lamp

The Herda wall lamp has an Italian feel in its combination of colour, shape and material. The design may reflect the visual language of the Memphis Group. We do not claim a direct Memphis attribution. The appeal lies in the strong composition and the careful contrast between hard and warm materials.

The chrome-plated aluminium bowl gives the lamp a clean, reflective surface. The ebony knob breaks that surface with a darker natural detail. The brass base adds a subtle golden tone. Together, these elements create a balanced object that works in both a modern and a vintage interior.

The Herda wall lamp measures 21 cm in height, 31 cm in width and 31 cm in depth. You can browse more vintage lighting in our online shop.
